USS Kentucky

USS Kentucky ha sido el nombre utilizado por tres buques de la Armada de los Estados Unidos (y por uno de la Armada de los Estados Confederados) en honor al décimo quinto estado.

  • La flotilla del Mississippi, capturo el transporte confederado Memphis el 6 de junio de 1862. El registro naval de los Estados Unidos de 1863, lo listaba como asignado a la escuadra del Mississippi, pero no se ha encontrado ningún otro registro de su servicio en la armada de la Unión.
  • acorazado de clase 24 de marzo de 1898, que navegó con la “gran flota blanca”, y que fue vendido para desguace el 23 de enero de 1924
  • USS Kentucky debería haber sido un acorazado de clase Iowa que se encontraba en construcción en 1947 cuando su contrato fue cancelado
  • submarino de Ohio dado de alta en 1991 y actualmente en servicio.
