Human herpesvirus 7

Human herpesvirus 7 o HHV-7 es un virus de la familia Herpesviridae. Fue aislado por vez primera en 1990 a partir de linfocitos CD4+. Se caracteriza por una organización de su genoma similar a la del HHV-6; de hecho, se ha descrito una actividad antigénica cruzada entre ambos virus. Presente en coinfecciones con HHV-6, se discute si se trata de un patógeno: algunos autores indican que no existen evidencias claras de que esté involucrado en ninguna enfermedad humana[1] mientras que otros señalan que causa roseola infantil.[2]
