Hippelates es un género de dípteros braquíceros de la familia Chloropidae; se conocen vulgarmente como moscas o mosquitos oculares ya que tienen el hábito de lamer las comisuras de los ojos de hombres o animales, causando a veces úlceras e infecciones.
