Lydd es una ciudad inglesa, en el condado de Kent, en las cercanías del pantano Romney (50°57′N 0°55′E / 50.95, 0.917). Es una de las ciudades más grandes de la zona y la que se encuentra más al sur en Kent. En realidad localizada en el pantano de Denge, Lydd fue una de las primeras islas arenosas en formarse, pues la bahía se desarrolló en lo que ahora se denomina pantano de Romney. Su nombre deriva de la palabra latina Hlyda que significa "orilla", denominación que fue encontrada en una carta fechaba en el siglo VIII.
