Su primera película fue la Moonlight and Valentino, donde desempeñó la parte de "Jenny Morrow", la hija de un personaje interpretado por Whoopi Goldberg. Shadia siempre ha soñado con trabajar en una película de Disney cuando era más joven. Ella consiguió ese sueño, cuando obtuvo un papel en A Saintly Switch. Shadia es una persona muy privada y hasta ahora ha vivido con el secreto de tener Lupus. Fué diagnosticada a los 17 años cuando fue a filmar "Mi vida con Derek", en Terranova, Canadá. Un montón de preguntas surgen en lo que respecta a su cuerpo, pelo, peso, la piel y sobre todo apariencia, a veces, que contribuyó a su condición.
