Susupuato

Susupuato es un municipio situado en el este del estado mexicano de Michoacán. Tiene una superficie total de 273,33 km², lo que representa tan sólo un 0,46% de la superficie del Estado de Michoacán.[1] Sus fronteras son, al norte, con Juárez, al sur y al este con el Estado de México y al oeste con Tuzantla. La población del municipio asciende hasta los 7.703 habitantes, según el censo de 2005.[2] El núcleo urbano principal es Susupuato de Guerrero.

En la época precolombina la zona era habitada por los pueblos P'urhépecha, Mazahua, Otomí y Nahua.
