Es la parte de Rumania habitada por su minoría húngara (Székelyföld en húngaro; Terra Siculorum en latín; Ţinutul Secuiesc en rumano). Está ubicada en los valles y colinas del Este de los Cárpatos. Administrativamente se trata de los condados de Harghita, Covasn y algunas partes de Mureş. En origen, el nombre de Székely Land se refirió a una región autónoma situada en Transilvania: existió como tal desde la Edad Media hasta el siglo XIX.
