El hombre más anciano del mundo, sin contar los mencionados en la Biblia, fue un inglés llamado Thomas Cam, que vivió 207 años. Murió en 1795. Según consta en los registros parroquiales del condado, no cabe ninguna duda de que Cam superó los dos siglos de vida.
