Wrongful life

Wrongful life (literalmente, "vida injusta", aunque en ocasiones se traduce como "eugenesia fallida") es el nombre dado a la acción legal en la que alguien es demandado al no evitar el nacimiento de un bebé severamente minusválido.

Normalmente el bebé y los padres demandarán al doctor o al hospital por no proporcionarles la adecuada información que les habría permitido saber la malformación durante el embarazo, o una mala disposición genética de alguno de los padres antes de quedarse embarazada. Si les hubieran avisado habrían podido abortar o ni siquiera pensar en concebir al hijo. O en caso de quererlo según sus creencias religiosas, se habrían preparado mentalmente para ello.

La finalidad del litigio es normalmente conseguir una compensación monetaria para el minusválido y la familia.
