Chibabava

Chibabava es una villa y también uno de los doce distritos que forman la provincia de Sofala en el centro-este de Mozambique, región costera en el canal de Mozambique.

Geografía

Este distrito tiene una extensión superficial de 8 012 km² y una población de 72 273 habitantes en 1977 y 90 684 en 2005.[1]

Situado al sur de la provincia, linda al norte con el distrito de Nhamatanda; al sur con el de Machanga; al oeste con la provincia de Manica, distritos de Mussorize y Machaze; y al este con el distrito de Búzi.

División Administrativa

Este distrito formado por seis localidades, se divide en tres puestos administrativos (posto administrativo), con la siguiente población censada en 2005:

  • Chibabava, sede, 13 742 (Dongonda).
  • Goonda, 22 572 (Tronga).
  • Muxungue, 54 371 (Mucheve).
