City CarShare

City CarShare es una compañiía sin fines de lucro que renta autos en el área de la bahía de San Francisco desde 2001. Empezó por medio de la transportación de activistas en Oakland, Berkeley y San Francisco. City CarShare tiene autos para su disposición por horas, durante cualquier momento del día. Los miembros pagan una membresía, la cual tiene cargos dependiendo del tiempo usado, distancia manejada, momento en el que se utilizo el auto y el tipo de auto que escogió. Los vehículos disponibles son: Hibridos-Plug in de Toyota, Smarts, Vanes con facilidad de acceso para sillas de ruedas, Subaru, Toyota Prius, Mini Cooper, Scion xB y Toyota Yaris, entre otros. Toda la flota de vehiculos de la empresa, es baja en emisiones y eficientes en el consumo de combustible.

City CarShare trabaja con gobiernos locales y empresarios en comunidades, las cuales son llamadas "PDP" (Punto de partidas). Además que algunos gobiernos y empresas usan a los autos de City CarShare como parte de sus flota de autos. También trabajan con otras agencias de autos para su renta.

La mision de City CarShare es implementar el ambiente y calidad de vida en nuestra comunidad, de ser innovador y socialmente responsable con las opciones de movilidad. Con la propuesta de rentar un auto, se hace menor la dependencia del auto y ver otras opciones de movilidad, lo que tendra consecuencias en nuestra manera de vivir, trabajar, respirar y jugar.
