Guthrie Govan (nacido el 27 de diciembre de 1971 en Chelmsford, Essex, Inglaterra). Empezó a tocar la guitarra aproximadamente a los 3 años y aprendió de forma autodidacta. A los 7 años tuvo su primera guitarra eléctrica, una Gibson SG Special con P-90. Es un guitarrista conocido por su trabajo con bandas como Asia(2001-2006), GPS, The Young Punx y The Fellowship también conocido como Erotic Cakes. El es un importante profesor de guitarra que trabaja para la UK magazine Guitar Techniques, la Guildford’s Academy of Contemporary Music y actualmente para el Brighton Institute of Modern Music. También fue ganador de Guitarist magazine's como "Guitarrista del año" en una competición de esta revista. También se dedica a realizar videos instruccionales en la compañía "Lick Library".

Hoy en día es considerado como uno de los mejores guitarristas modernos, y es reconocido por sus complejos tappings de 8 dedos (véase en su tema Sevens del disco Erotic Cakes). Ha llegado a dominar una gran cantidad de estilos musicales.
