El Lowell Observatory Near-Earth-Object Search (LONEOS) es un programa dirigido por la NASA y por el Observatorio Lowell cuya misión es localizar objetos espaciales en órbitas próximas de la Tierra (original: Near Earth Objects). El programa inició sus observaciones en Diciembre de 1997.
El LONEOS usa un telescopio con un espejo principal con una abertura de 0.6m, que permite tener un campo de visión de aproximadamente 3 grados de cielo. La tasa de rastreo es de aproximadamente 1.000 grados cuadrados por noche (consigue cubrir todo el cielo en cerca de 1 mes). El CCD ha detectado asteroides hasta una magnitud visual de apenas 19.8.
El manejo del telescopio es asegurado por computadores utilizando software desarrollado para el efecto. Además de descubrir miles de asteroides, el programa LONEOS también descubrió los cometas 150P/LONEOS y 159P/LONEOS.
