Martín Sánchez de Portugal, noble portugués, conde de Trastámara y señor de la torre del valle de Jaras o Geraz de Riva Cadavo en las tierras portuguesas de Lañoso.
Fue unos de los ocho hijos naturales de Sancho I el Poblador tenido en María Aires de Fornelo. Casó con Elo Pérez de Castro, hija de Pedro Fernández de Castro "el Castellano" y Jimena Gómez de Manzanedo. Divorciada de su primer esposo y sin suceción de dicho matrimonio, Elo volvió a casar en 1205 con Guerau IV de Cabrera, vizconde de Cabrera y de Ager.[1]
Martín heredo un gran porcentaje de sus tierras su hijo Lope Machado quien tiempo después fue una figura importante en las Islas Canarias.[cita requerida]
