The People Under the Stairs o El sótano del miedo, es una película de terror de 1991, dirigida por Wes Craven.
Sinopsis
Atrapado en el interior de una casa fortificada que pertenece a una misteriosa pareja, un pobre muchacho se ve inmerso en una pesadilla. Tras percatarse de inmediato de la verdadera naturaleza de los macabros habitantes de la casa, el chico se enfrenta a sádicos dispositivos de seguridad, se hace amigo de una chica esquiva y maltratada, y tratará de descubrir el secreto de las criaturas ocultas en las profundidades de la casa.
