Chucándiro es un municipio del estado mexicano de Michoacán.

Toponimia

Su nombre es de origen chichimeca y significa: "arboledas", aunque otros consideran que el nombre quiere decir "lugar de mentirosos".

Localización

Se localiza al norte del Estado, en las coordenadas 19°54′24″N 101°20′08″O / 19.90667, -101.33556Coordenadas: 19°54′24″N 101°20′08″O / 19.90667, -101.33556 , a una altitud de 1.850 msnm.

Limita con los siguientes municipios: al norte con Morelos y Huandacareo, al Este con Copándaro y Tarímbaro, al Sur con Morelia, y al Oeste con Huaniqueo. Su distancia a la capital del estado es de 50 km.
