Jungapeo de Juárez

Jungapeo es un municipio del estado mexicano de Michoacán. Es el primer productor estatal de guayaba y reconocido productor de miel y frutas exóticas, paraíso de aguas termales, cañadas y haciendas.

Su nombre deriva de la palabra chichimeca Xungapeo, que significa "lugar amarillo", o del p'urhépecha Xunapiti y el locativo o, "lugar amarillo", aunque actualmente los adjetivos de color "xunapiti" amarillo, y "tsïpampiti" verde, del siglo XVI han mudado y significan exactamente lo contrario, por lo que en p'urhépecha actual Jungapeo significa "lugar de verdor" o vergel.
