USS New Haven

USS New Haven ha sido el nombre recibido por cuatro buques de la Armada de los Estados Unidos en honor a New Haven, Connecticut, y actualmente, hay otro en construcción:

  • góndola del Lago Champlain que participó en la batalla de la isla Valcour durante la Guerra de la Independencia de los Estados Unidos.
  • USS New Haven (CL-76) fue inicialmente puesto en grada como un crucero ligero de ataque a Pearl Harbor, fue reconvertido a portaaviones de Independence, y fue renombrado USS Belleau Wood (CVL-24).
  • USS New Haven (CL-109) estuvo planeado como un crucero ligero de Segunda Guerra Mundial.
  • USS New Haven (CLK-2) fue puesto en grada como un cazador de cruceros (junto al USS Norfolk (CLK-1), aunque la construcción fue aplazada el 2 de marzo de 1949 y cancelada definitivamente el 9 de febrero de 1951 cuando el programa CLK fue cancelado.
