Denyce Graves es una mezzosoprano norteamericana nacida el 7 de marzo de 1964 en Washington DC.

Estudió en la Duke Ellington School of Arts de Washington y en Oberlin Conservatory of Music y New England Conservatory.

Debutó en Metropolitan Opera de New York en 1995 donde hasta la fecha ha cantado más de 90 representaciones.

Sus papeles más conocidos son Carmen y Dalila, otros personajes son Baba la Turca de Stravinsky, Maddalena en Rigoletto y otras.

Graves cantó "America the Beautiful" y "Lord's Prayer" en la Catedral de Washington en honor a las víctimas del atentado del 9/11.
