Richard A. Cohen

Richard Cohen ( * 1952) es un escritor sobre terapia reparativa,[1] tendientes a ayudar a hombres y mujeres[2] que no desean sentir atracciones sexuales del mismo sexo.[1] ha sido llamado uno de los lideres estadounidenses en la practica de la terapia de reconversión.[3] Cohen da conferencias y organiza seminarios sobre el tema, y establece tiendas para la venta de sus libros.[4] Las teorías de Cohen no se encuentran conformes con la mayoría de los médicos en el tema de orientación sexual,[5] y la National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH) se opone firmemente al uso de estas técnicas.[6]

Cohen vive en Washington, D.C. con su familia.[7] Ofrece teleconferencias comerciales de clases sobre tópicos tales como "prestar [a los padres] ayuda a sus hijos que experimentan atracciones del mismo sexo... [a] sanar y cumplir su innato potencial heterosexual" y "presentar[tando]... un plan claro y comprehensivo para transitar de la orientación homosexual a la heterosexual."[8] También viaja por el país dando conferencias sobre el tema.[9] [1]

Dejó de asistir a la Iglesia de la Unificación en 1995.[7]
