La Gobernación de Rif Dimashq (en árabe: ريف دمشق, significa "Damasco rural") es una de las 14 provincias que conforman la Organización político-administrativa de la República Árabe Siria.

Geografía

Rif Dimashq está situado en la parte suroeste del país. Limita con las provincias de Al-Qunaytirah, Dar`a y Al-Suwayda en el suroeste, Homs en el norte, el Líbano en el oeste y con el Reino Hachemita de Jordania en el sur. La provincia rodea por completo a la ciudad de Damasco, que es también una capital de Rif Dimashq.

Población

Tiene una superficie de 17.654 kilómetros cuadrados y una población de 2.487.000 personas (estimaciones de 2007). La densidad poblacional de esta provincia siria es de 140,87 habitantes por cada kilómetro cuadrado de la gobernación.
