Rudolf Hilferding (10 de agosto de 1877 - 11 de febrero de 1941) fue un economista marxista vienés,[1] [2] que lideró las teorías y políticas socialistas del Partido Socialdemócrata de Alemania (SPD) durante la época de la República de Weimar.[3] Está reconocido universalmente como el mayor teórico del SPD del siglo XX.[4]

Después de convertirse en un reconocido periodista afín al SPD,[3] participó en la Revolución de Noviembre alemana. En 1923 fue Ministro de Economía de Alemania, cargo que también ocupó entre 1928 y 1929. En 1933 se vio obligado a exiliarse, primero a Zurich y luego a París, donde murió a manos de la Gestapo en 1941.[1] [5]
