Según datos del último censo de 2000, se registró una población de 4,499 habitantes. A mediados de 2005, se estimó una población de 8,400 habitantes.

Se localiza geográficamente entre los 17º55'17" N y los 87º57'40" W, a unos 1.5 msnm; en Cayo Ambergris.
