USS Achilles

USS Achilles ha sido el nombre recibido por dos buques de la Armada de los Estados Unidos en honor al héroe de la mitología griega Aquiles:

  • El primer monitor 15 de junio de 1869.
  • El segundo buque de desembarco de carros blindados de clase LST-1 convertido en buque de reparaciones de 30 de enero de 1943, y dado de baja el 19 de julio de 1946, fecha en la que fue vendido a China. El buque, recibió tres estrellas por su servicio en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, uno como LST-455 y dos como Achilles (ARL-41).
