Carrera astronómica

Estudió los eclipses lunares, utilizando modelos construidos en el jardín de su casa. Su explicación del fenómeno, dada en el artículo "Sobre la explicación de los eclipses lunares", es bastante acertada.[1]

En su corta vida escribió doce libros sobre astronomía y matemáticas.[2] En el libro "Sobre la forma de bola de la Tierra" explicó por qué la gente no se caía de la Tierra esférica, entre otros temas.[1]

Reconocimientos

En 2004 la Unión Astronómica Internacional nombró un cráter de Venus en su honor.[2]
