Website Meta Language

Website META Language es un software libre que contiene un juego de herramientas extensibles de generación de páginas HTML fuera de línea para Unix, distribuido bajo la licencia GNU General Public License (GPL v2). Está escrito en ANSI C y Perl 5, construido mediante GNU Autoconf y que se ejecuta en la mayoría de los derivados de Unix.

WML consta de un programa frontal de control el cual se encarga de manejar nueve programas de fondo en un esquema orientado a la evisión secuencial. Cada programa de fondo provee de un lenguaje específico. WML también provee de un conjunfo de archivos de inclusión los cuales proveen características de más alto nivel.

Los nueve elementos que constituyen WML son:

  • Paso 1: Source Reading and Include File Expansion (ipp)
  • Paso 2: HTML Macro Construct Expansion (mp4h)
  • Paso 3: Perl 5 Programming Construct Expansion (eperl)
  • Paso 4: M4 Macro Construct Expansion (gm4)
  • Paso 5: Diversion Filter (divert)
  • Paso 6: Character and String Substitution (asubst)
  • Paso 7: HTML Fixup (htmlfix)
  • Paso 8: Line Stripping and Output Fixup (htmlstrip)
  • Paso 9: Output Splitting and Final Writing (slice)
