Colin Ward

Colin Ward ( Wanstead (Essex), 14 de agosto de 1924 - Ipswich , 11 de febrero de 2010) fue un escritor e historiador británico de ideología anarquista y también ecologista, para algunos uno de los pensadores anarquistas más importantes de los últimos cincuenta años.[1]

Finalizada la Segunda Guerra Mundial colabora con el semanario Freedom, creado por Kropotkin a finales del siglo XIX,[2]

En su obra Anarchy Action sostiene que la anarquía no es una teoría de la utopía, sino de la organización. Considera como la anarquía avanzará en el siglo XXI no por los partidos verdes, sino con las economías no oficiales e informales del tercer mundo en el más amplio movimiento de los verdes. [3]

Autor con el urbanista Peter Hall de la obra Ciudades Sociables Sociable Cities (1998), un análisis del legado de Ebenezer Howard, cuyo concepto de ciudad jardín descrito en su obra Ciudades de mañana (1902) tanto ha influido en el urbanismo moderno.
