Kabaw

Kabaw, Kabao[1] o Cabao[2] ( en árabe : كاباو ) es una ciudad del Distrito de Nalut en el noroeste de Libia . Se encuentra a sólo 9 kilómetros de la carretera Gharyan-Nalut[3] y a unos 70 kilómetros al oeste de Jadu, en el extremo norte de la meseta de Tripolitania, en los montes de Nafusa .

Historia

Kabaw era una ciudad bereber en el área administrativa de Ghadamis. Después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial , fue ocupada por los franceses militar y se gobernó desde Túnez.[4] Volvió al control de Libia en 1951.

Lugares de interés

Kabaw es el hogar de las ghurfas o "Ksar Kabaw", una villa-fortaleza bereber en lo alto de una colinaahora abandonado.[3] Los ghurfas está construida principalmente de piedra, yeso y adobe , con puertas de madera de palma.[3]

El Festival de Primavera de Qsar anualmente en abril.[3] [5]
