Argumento

Alex Fletcher (Hugh Grant), una estrella de pop acabada de los años 80, se ha visto relegado a trabajar en el circuito de la nostalgia, en ferias de pueblo y parques de atracciones. Ahora tiene la oportunidad de volver a escena cuando la gran diva Cora Corman (Haley Bennett) le invita a componer y grabar un dúo con ella. Pero hay un problema: Alex no ha escrito ninguna canción desde hace años, jamás ha escrito letras y tiene tan sólo unos días para escribir una canción de éxito. Sophie Fisher (Drew Barrymore), la simpática muchacha que le cuida las plantas, posee un don de la palabra que llama la atención del compositor.
