La National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), fundada en 1938, es una asociación que aglutina y organiza competiciones deportivas entre distintas instituciones de enseñanza superior (community y junior colleges) a lo largo y ancho de los Estados Unidos de América.

La estructura actual de la NJCAA se divide en 6 divisones que engloban un total de 24 regiones distintas.

Historia

La idea de crear la NJCAA surje en 1937 en Fresno, California cuando un puñado de representantes de distintos centros educativos se reunen con la idea de fundar una asociación que promoviera y supervisara un programa de deportes que fuera consecuente con los objetivos educacionales de los institutos.

El acto de constitución de dicha asociación tuvo lugar en el propio Freso, el 15 de mayo de 1938, fecha a partir de la cual la NJCAA comienza oficialmente sus actividades.

Conferencias

A día de hoy, las distintas competiciones organizadas por la NCJAA se dividen en un total de 24 conferencias que acogen a 436 instituciones educativas a lo largo de todo Estados Unidos.
