The Claim es una película de 2000 dirigida por Michael Winterbottom. El guion por Frank Cottrell Boyce es basado vagamente en la novela The Mayor of Casterbridge por Thomas Hardy. La música es compuesta por Michael Nyman.

Trama

Basada en la novela de Thomas Hardy, The Claim sigue la historia de Daniel Dillon, quién cambió a su esposa y su hija recién nacida por una mina de oro.
