The Natural

The Natural es una adaptación cinematográfica de 1984 de la novela homónima de Bernard Malamud de 1952; dirigida por Barry Levinson y protagonizada por Robert Redford, Glenn Close y Robert Duvall. La peícula, como el libro, narra las experiencias de Roy Hobbs, un individuo con un gran talento natural para el béisbol, a través del éxito y del sufrimiento.

La película fue nominada a cuatro Premios de la Academia, incluyendo Mejor Actriz de Reparto (Glenn Close) y nominada para un Globo de Oro a la Mejor Actriz de Reparto (Kim Basinger). Muchas de las escenas de béisbol fueron filmadas en el estadio War Memorial de Buffalo, Nueva York; construido en 1937 y demolido unos años después de la filamción de la película.

Fue la primera película producida por TriStar Pictures.
