The Stoned Prophets es una banda Doom/Stoner Originaria de la ciudad de Rancagua, Chile, Creada por el guitarrista Francisco Fierro Ribba y el Vocalista Marcelo Peña Campos. La agrupación actual fue consolidada a fines del año 2011 y esta formada por:

Francisco Fierro R. – Guitarra Lead

Miguel Leon – Baterias.

Marcelo P. Peña C. – Voces y bajo

Entre las influencias de The Stoned Prophets se consideran principalmente a bandas cultoras del Doom metal y del Stoner Rock, tales como Black Sabbath, Candlemass, Cathedral, Mourning Beloveth, Krux, Armored Saint, Spiritual Beggars y Corrosion of Conformity, entre otras.

La temática de las Líricas de The Stoned Prophets es un tanto compleja aunque muy directa; Raya en el sarcasmo, en el paganismo, en la sátira y la ironía, y a la vez se adentra en en lo psicoreligioso y en lo mitológico. En los conceptos liricos se pueden apreciar numerosas referencias a las piezas literarias pertenecientes a los Mitos de Cthulhu y a otras obras del Escritor Howard P. Lovecraft y a menudo se pueden encontrar referencias y citas de otros escritores, tales como James Joyce, Lord Byron y John Milton entre otros.

A fines del invierno de 2011 la agrupación se encuentra en proceso de composición y materialización de su primer álbum “The Halls of Heresy”, el cual incluirá sus tres primeras composiciones “Ignorance is Bliss”, “Nightmare traveller” y “Beyond the stars”; los cuales se encuentran en periodo de pre-grabación.
