Albertha Johanna (Barber) van de Pol (1944), escritora, hispanista, cervantista y traductora neerlandesa.

Biografía

Ha estudiado obras de Jorge Luis Borges, Julio Cortázar y Gabriel García Márquez y traducido a su lengua Don Quichot van La Mancha (1997), con gran éxito; ya le había sido otorgado el premio nacional de traducción Martinus Nijhoff por su versión de Rayuela de Cortázar. También cultivó la narrativa: Alles in de wind (1997), así como el ensayo Cervantes & Co.(2000) sobre sus experiencias como traductora. Su novela Er was wat met Meneer Maker & Mevrouw Maker (1998) fue muy bien recibida por la prensa. En 2001 publicó su segunda novela, Kriblijn. Ha escrito además en la revista literaria De Revisor entre 1983 y 1989, y preside el PEN Club.
