Beyond the Red Line, a menudo abreviado como BtRL, es un mod no oficial e independiente del galardonado videojuego FreeSpace 2. Está basado en el popular programa de televisión Battlestar Galactica).

El 31 de marzo de 2007 se lanzaba una demo que permitía jugar un tutorial, dos misiones individuales y un modo multijudador. Esta demo ha sido anunciada en varios sitios web relacionados con videojuegos (incluyendo Apple Inc., Fileplanet, PC Gamer) y revistas incluyendo Joystick (revista francesa sobre videojuegos) y Pelit. La demo de BtRL también ha sido portada de dos revistas Ucranianas ("Domashny PK" y "Gameplay").

  • Completamente independiente de FreeSpace 2 (no se necesita).
  • Modelos de naves precisos y detallados a gran resolución.
  • Audio de alta calidad.
    • Banda sonora original dentro de juego, además de las piezas de Bear McCreary y Richard Gibbs
  • Personajes y voces originales.
  • La demo contiene una campaña para un jugador con tres misiones que narran acontecimientos "nunca antes vistos", interrelacionados con el hilo argumental de la serie.
  • Misiones en modo multijugador que incluyen las modalidades "Deathmatch", "Capturar la Bandera" y otras.
