En informática, un binding es una “ligadura” o referencia a otro símbolo más largo y complicado, y que se usa frecuentemente. Este otro símbolo puede ser un valor de cualquier tipo, numérico, de cadena, etc o el nombre de una variable que contiene un valor o un conjunto de valores.

En el campo de la programación, un binding es una adaptación de una biblioteca para ser usada en un lenguaje de programación distinto de aquél en el que ha sido escrita.

En negocios, cuando un contrato está "binding" indica que el mismo es vinculante, para ello debe estar firmado y no forjar ninguna ley superior.
