Brontoraptor ("ladrón trueno") es el nombre informal dado a un genero de dinosaurio del estrato Kimeridgiano, alrededor de 150 milliones de años atrás en el Jurásico superior en la Formación Morrison. Fue un terópodo tetanuro que habito lo que es hoy Wyoming, perteneciendo a los megalosáuridos. "Brontoraptor" no ha sido oficialmente publicado, por lo que aparece como nomen nudum desde la década de 1990. Un manuscrito describiéndolo ha circulado en la red, y el nombre fue colocado por el paleontólogo Robert T. Bakker. Brontoraptor estaba verdaderamente construido pesadamente. Estos huesos son increíblemente fuertes y se necesitaron muchos escavadores para desenterrarlos.
