La Maclura tinctoria es una especiebotánica de planta con flor de la familia de las Moraceae y nativa de toda América.

Es un árbol de copa redondeada, ancha, densa, fuste ligeramente tortuoso, corto y con aletas en la base. Ramas espinosas.

Su madera es amarillenta, con densidad de 850 kg/m³
