Exodus International

Exodus International es uno de los grupos más grandes del movimiento ex-gay. Los ministros religiosos afiliados a Exodus[1] otorgan apoyo a lo que ellos llaman "libertad de la homosexualidad"[2] consistentes ya sea en la abstinencia, "disminuir los niveles de tentaciones homosexuales, fortaleciendo los sentidos de identidad masculina y femenina, corrigiendo estilos distorsionados de relacionarse con miembros del sexo opuesto."[3] La posición de Exodus International no es que la reorientación de la atracción del mismo sexo sea necesria, sino que es posible; ellos no realizan tratamientos clínicos pero creen que la terapia reparativa puede ser beneficiosa.[2]

Fundada en 1976, Exodus es una organización cristiana interdenominal sin fines de lucro. La organización ha crecido hasta alcanzar más de 120 ministros locales en EE.UU. y Canadá y más de 150 ministros en otros 17 países.[4] El grupo tiene además periódicos mensuales, conferencias anuales, organiza conferencias a pedido y tiene un servicio en internet. El actual presidente de Exodus es Alan Chambers.
