Goodwill Games

Los Goodwill Games (en castellano, Juegos de la Buena Voluntad) eran eventos deportivos multidisciplinarios en los que participaban atletas de diversas partes del mundo. Fueron ideados a mediados de los 80 por el empresario estadounidense Ted Turner como una manera de aliviar las tensiones existentes durante la Guerra Fría, a través de una competición atlética amistosa entre naciones. Con el fin de la Guerra Fría, el foco de estos Juegos se desplazó hacia la promoción de iniciativas deportivas y sociales para los jóvenes.

Esta competición se celebraba tanto en verano, cuya primera edición tuvo lugar en 1986, como en invierno, disputándose una única vez en el año 2000. La organización encargada de la realización de dichos eventos era la compañía de telecomunicación AOL-Time Warner.
