Gutier Núñez

Gutier Núñez (? -?). Conde de Castilla del c.929 al 931.

Conocido como conde en Burgos por un único documento del 1-III-931 donde aparece como conde en Burgos y reinando en León Alfonso IV. Sin embargo poco después aparece ya Fernán González como conde de Castilla y fiel a Ramiro II de León.

Existen diversidad de opiniones sobre el origen de Gutier Núñez, según los historiadores Justo Pérez de Urbel y Justiniano Rodríguez Fernández, Gutier Núñez es el noble gallego Gutier Muñoz nieto de Gutier Menéndez hijo de Hermenegildo Gutiérrez, cosa bastante improbable ya que Gutier Muñoz aparece siempre como Gutier Muñoz y falleció en el año 999, lo que hace que parezca bastante improbable que fuera enviado a Castilla 68 años antes para gobernarla en nombre de Alfonso IV.[1] Es más probable que Gutier Núñez fuera hijo del anterior conde de Burgos Nuño Fernández, respaldando esta hipótesis el patronímico Núñez (hijo de Nuño).
