Yah o Jah es la forma abreviada del nombre hebreo del Dios judío, Yahweh o Jehová (se usabaYHWH en hebreo, porque el nombre de Dios era impronunciable).

Jah en la cultura hebrea

En el texto original del Antiguo Testamento (el primer grupo de libros de la Biblia) el nombre Jah aparece veintiséis veces, principalmente en el libro de los Salmos; y veinticuatro contenido en la palabra hebrea aleluya (cuyo significado es 'alabad a Jah'). También aparece formando parte de nombres bíblicos como Miqueas (en hebreo Micayáh).

En el movimiento rastafari

Los rastafari tienen la creencia de que el emperador Jah Ras Tafari etíope Haile Selassie I fue una reencarnación del Dios judeo cristiano Jah, al igual que lo había sido Jesucristo. Debido a ello, frecuentemente utilizan este término para referirse a Dios.
