John Ottman nacido el 6 de Julio de 1964 en San Diego, California .Es un compositor norteamericano, editor de filmes y director.
Es mejor conocido por sus colaboraciones con el director Bryan Singer, editando y componiendo las partituras para sus filmes The Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil, X-Men 2 y Superman Returns siendo en esta última donde adaptó la música de Superman originalmente compuesta por John Williams. El realiza ambas labores a la cual se agrega la dirección del filme de terror Urban Legends: Final Cut.
Ottman también compuso la partitura de la película Fantastic Four y está confirmado para hacer lo mismo con su secuela, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, previa a estrenarse en Junio del 2007
