Kim Yusin (595-673) fue un general del reino de Silla. Lideró la unificación de los distintos reinos de la península de Corea bajo el reinado de Muyeol de Silla y Munmu de Silla. Se piensa que era el bisnieto del rey Guhae de Geumgwan Gaya, quien fue el último dirigente del estado de Geumgwan Gaya. Esto le permitió obtener un rango muy algo en Silla (), que funcionaba como un sistema de castas.Además estuvo enamorado de la reina de Silla Deok-man conocida como la reina Sandeok que condujo Silla en el siglo VII,con si inteligencia y atrevimiento fue atraída por el budismo y pudo construir un abservador astronómico llamado Cheomsongdae que se encuentra en Asia Oriental,Deok-man y Yu-sin se querian mucho pero no pudieron estar juntos y cada uno emprendio su camino.Yu-sin decidió ofrecerle a Deok-man su inteligencia y su fuerza,dejando el amor.Deok-man decidió ser reina de Silla y Yu-sin llegó a ser general muy importante se Silla como ven en la estatua.


La mayor parte de lo que se conoce sobre la vida de Kim procede principalmente del Samguk Sagi, Yeoljeon 1-3, y en menor medida del Samguk Yusa, vol. 1.
