Marnaviridae es una familia de virus de la cual se conoce un sólo género, Marnavirus. La especie tipo infecta al alga microscópica Heterosigma akashiwo. Contienen un genoma ARN monocatenario positivo y por lo tanto se incluyen en el Grupo IV de la Clasificación de Baltimore. Los viriones presentan una cápside isométrica con simetría icosaédrica y carecen de envoltura. La longitud del genoma es de aproximadamente 9000 nucleótidos.[1]
