Patrick Harpur (n. 1950-) estudió literatura inglesa en la Universidad de Cambridge. Viajó por África y trabajó en una editorial. En 1982, dejó su trabajo para dedicarse exclusivamente a escribir. Actualmente vive cerca de Dorchester, en Dorset, Inglaterra.
