Phyllis Schlafly (n. 15 de agosto de 1924, en St. Louis, Missouri)[1] es una activista política conservadora estadounidense conocida por su libro superventas de 1964 titulado A Choice, Not An Echo, y su oposición al feminismo y a la Enmienda de Igualdad de Derechos (Equal Rights Amendment).

Schlafly fue co-autora de varios libros sobre defensa nacional, y fue muy crítica sobre los acuerdos de control de armas con la Unión Soviética.[2] En 1961 escribió que el control de armas "no detendrá a la agresión Roja igual como el desarmar a nuestras policías locales no detendría los asesinatos, hurtos y violaciones."[3]

Conocida ampliamente por el público como escritora y comentarista, Schlafly mantiene una presencia activa en los circuitos de lectura (lecture circuit). En 1972, fundó el Eagle Forum (un movimiento con 25.000 miembros, que defiende posturas pro vida y contrarias al matrimonio gay), y fue la fundadora y presidenta de la organización hermana conocida como Eagle Forum Education & Legal Defense Fund, que también opera en las oficinas de Eagle Forum en St. Louis. En el 2007 se mantiene como presidenta de ambas organizaciones. Desde 1976 publica su propia revista de política, el Phyllis Schlafly Report.

Schlafly es católica y estuvo casada con el abogado John Fred Schlafly, Jr., (1909–1993) durante cuarenta años. Tuvieron seis hjos: John, Bruce, Roger, Liza, Andrew, and Anne.
