Tombua

Tombua , en idioma portugués Tombwa es una comuna y también un municipio (Concelho de Tômbua) de la provincia de Namibe, en el suroeste de Angola, región marítima y fronteriza con Namibia.

Geografía

El término tiene una extensión superficial de 18 019 km² y una población de 39 836 habitantes.[1]

Linda al norte con los municipios de Namibe y de Virey; al este con la provincia de Cunene, municipio de Curoca; al sur con la República de Namibia; y al oeste con el Océano Atlántico.

  • Tombua, sede.
  • Bahía de los Tigres (Baía dos Tigres)

Historia

Fundada durante la colonización portuguesa como Puerto Alexandre, Porto Alexandre, cambiendo de denominación en 1975.
