Araró es un poblado en el estado de Michoacán, México; subperteneciendo al municipio de Zinapecuaro. A una distancia de 45 km de la capital Morelia; tiempo aproximado de 1 hora.

Región lacustre rodedada de montes, lagunas y aguas termales, tierra propicia para la agricultura de ciertos vegetales y cereales, extracción de sal muy apreciada desde la antigüedad por su contenido mineral.

El nombre completo de este poblado es "San Buenaventura de las Aguas Calientes de Araró", pero es conocido comúnmente con el nombre de Araró, que significa "lugar donde los tarascos se perforan la nariz y las orejas"; esto es, deriva de la costumbre de los antiguos pobladores de ésta región de perforarse las fosas nasales y orejas y colocarse aros, en favor de sus creencias divinas, es un lugar tranquilo, de agradable ambiente, proveedor de la salud con sus aguas termales que pueden ser disfrutadas en sus balnearios, remembranza por eventos historicos en las diferentes etapas de México, y de inconmensurable tradición religiosa.

La población del lugar en especial de Araró, es gente sencilla, de grandes valores tradicionales, amable en el trato y justa en el hacer. Es un rincón de nuestro maravilloso Michoacán digno de ser visitado por el turismo nacional e internacional.
