Zannanza

Zannanza fue un príncipe hitita del mediados-finales del siglo XIV aC.

Zannanza, cuarto hijo de Shubiluliuma I, fue escogido por su padre para casarse con Anjesenamón de Egipto, viuda de Tutanjamón, y convertirse en faraón a petición de ésta. Sin embargo, Zannanza murió antes de llegar a su destino; Shubiluliuma I, creyendo que había sido asesinado por el nuevo faraón, Ay, para deshacerse de un posible competidor, declaró la guerra a Egipto.

Esta guerra se extendió durante cierto tiempo, y los egipcios sufrieron perdidas considerables, hasta que una epidemia llevada por los prisioneros egipcios a Hattusa devastó el imperio hitita y causó la muerte de Shubiluliuma y de su hijo Arnuanda II.
